Executive Director
I am so honored to be the new executive director of the IPTA! A quick introduction. I was raised in Van Meter, and that is where I reside today. I attended Iowa State University (Go State!) for agriculture education and political science. After college, I worked for Pioneer Hi-Bred as a research assistant. I was previously the transportation director at Van Meter CSD, while at Van Meter I also served on the IPTA board as well as the maintenance and inspection advisory council. I believe in giving back to the community and I do this by serving as a volunteer firefighter for the city of Van Meter.
Now on to business! … As we gather to commemorate 60 years of the IPTA, it's truly awe-inspiring to reflect on the transformative journey our industry has undertaken. While may not have witnessed every twist and turn of the past six decades, the evolution we've experienced is undeniably remarkable. In an era defined by rapid technological advancement and shifting paradigms, the IPTA remains steadfast in its commitment to staying at the forefront of innovation. My goal is clear: to equip our members with the tools, knowledge, and training necessary to uphold the highest standards in student transportation across Iowa. Central to our mission is the belief in the power of communication. By fostering an environment where members can freely exchange thoughts, address challenges, and devise solutions, we empower ourselves to overcome obstacles and seize opportunities. In every dilemma lies a solution waiting to be discovered, and through collective effort, we are well-equipped to find it. As we celebrate this significant milestone, let us renew our commitment to innovation, collaboration, and excellence. Together, we will navigate the ever-changing currents of our industry, steering towards a future where student transportation in Iowa stands as an example of progress and possibility
