Teresa Hartley
Teresa Hartley, Transportation Director at the Mid-Prairie Community School District.
I have worked for the Mid-Prairie Community School District for 23 years. I started my time in the Mid-Prairie district as a Paraprofessional for about 15 years. I loved working with students with behavior difficulties throughout the entire Mid-Prairie district. After my 15 years as a paraprofessional, I accepted a position as half-time transportation secretary and half-time Alternative Learning Center (ALC) paraprofessional for 3 years. I then became Mid-Prairie Transportation Director for Mid-Prairie Community School District in August of 2018, where I am currently still employed.
I am very passionate about my job and the responsibilities that come with it. Kids’ safety is my top priority. I will do whatever it takes to be sure that we have the knowledge and resources we need to stay current in all aspects of safety. We are addressing transportation safety with monthly school bus driver training sessions. During the monthly meetings, we address important issues regarding driver training and things they can do to help make the bus ride safer and more enjoyable for students.
I look forward to being an advocate for all people in Transportation. In my time as Transportation Director, I see many things that need to change in order for administration, staff, students and parents to all work together for what is best for students and their success. I hope that I can be a voice for many other transportation directors and move us forward in a positive direction.
