Tony Bos, Transportation Director at the Sergeant Bluff-Luton Community School District.

I have been the Transportation Director/Mechanic at Sergeant Bluff-Luton CSD since July of 2021. It is a shared position with    Lawton-Bronson CSD since January of 2024 and was shared with Westwood CSD prior to that.  I have done a number of things over the years to include Farming, Driving Truck, Volunteer Firefighter, and 15 yeas in Law Enforcement. Prior to becoming the       Transportation Director at SB-L I spent 4 years as a Transportation Specialist at Western Iowa Tech Community College. 

One of my responsibilities there was coordinating the bus driver S.T.O.P. Classes.  I would like to join the IPTA board to help continue to keep Iowa School Bus Transportation one of the safest in the country.  I believe safety should be a top priority and as many new technologies become available, we have to be careful not to price our districts out of the safety game by forcing all of those new technologies into required specifications on buses. I have found that getting money for transportation can be tough and I enjoy thinking outside the box and finding new ways to conquer the tasks before us.
